The University of Malta’s Department of English is launching Daniel Massa’s recently published collection of poetry, Barefoot in the Saltpans, on Thursday 14 January at 18:30 at the Aula Magna, University of Malta Valletta Campus.
Stella Borg Barthet will deliver a short welcome address, followed by readings by Ninette Micallef and Paul Xuereb. Ivan Callus and Adrian Grima will be giving short critical commentaries. A Musical Interlude will comprise ‘The Invitation’ and ‘The Tribute’ from Seħer [Enchantment] Song Cycle, composed by Joseph Vella for a text written for it by Daniel Massa and sung by Maria Frendo.
Barefoot In The Saltpans is published by Allied Newspapers.

A leading poet in Maltese and English, Daniel Massa has published widely on Renaissance Humanism and Commonwealth Literature. Barefoot in the Saltpans is a selection of Massa’s poetry, characterised by seascape imagery, gripping in its vividness and physicality.
