On Thursday evening I rehearsed with The Montaldi Project for Saturday’s concert at 8.00pm n the Theatre at St James Cavalier and thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to our next rehearsal and performance.
Reading with the music of Mirko Montaldi from Italy on guitar, Luke Briffa on drums and Gediminas Stepanavičius from Lithuania on double bass is a truly exciting and enriching experience. I’m glad they like the poetry and love the sounds and rhythms of Maltese.
The Maltese texts I will be reading are from the section of love poems in Klin u Kapriċċi Oħra (Klabb Kotba Maltin, 2015), but I will also be reading some translations in English for those in the audience who don’t understand Maltese.
