Juann Mamo ma kienx kuntent iħalli d-dinja kif sabha. Dan qalu l-Prim Ministru Joseph Muscat meta ġie ippreżentat kopja tas-Sensiela Juann Mamo, sensiela bir-rumanz Ulied in-Nanna Venut fl-Amerka, il-personsaġġi storiċi li jissemmew fl-istess rumanz u bil-poeżiji ta’ Juann Mamo. Il-Prim Ministru qal li Juann Mamo kiteb dwar is-soċjeta’ ta’ żmienu bil-għan li jġeddidha.

‘Fil-kreattività mqarba tiegħu hemm moħħ li jgħarrex u spirtu ħaj u ħieles. Dawn huma kwalitajiet li neħtieġu aħna wkoll illum, kwalitajiet li bihom nagħrfu aħjar lilna nfusna bħala ġens fi stat kontinwu ta’ evoluzzjoni u żvilupp. Ġens li jeħtieġ ikompli jitgħallem, tul il-ħajja kollha. Huma kwalitajiet li neħtieġu aħna wkoll biex nagħrfu l-kwalitajiet tal-oħrajn, ta’ dawk, huma minn fejn huma, li jiġu fostna, imqar għal ftit jiem, jew għal ftit snin, sakemm isibu dar ġdida.’qal il-Prim Ministru.

JUANN MAMO REFUSED TO LEAVE THE WORLD AS HE FOUND IT

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat

Juann Mamo refused to leave the world as he found it, with its profound injustices. This is what Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said when he was presented with copies of the three books published by SKS in its series on Juann Mamo. The Prime Minister said that Mamo wrote about the society he lived in in order to renew it.

“Behind his restless creativity there is a mind that is always searching for new paths, a free spirit that is full of life. These are the qualities we need today, qualities that allow us to understand ourselves better as a national community that is in a constant state of evolution and development. A national community that must gear itself to a lifelong process of learning. These are the skills we need to understand the qualities of other peoples, of those, wherever they come from, who live among us, perhaps for a few days, perhaps for a few years, until they find a new home,” said the Prime Minister.

Juann Mamo’s two surviving children, Saturnina u Delphin Satiro, will also be present.
